Synopsis
When a poem is beautifully crafted, images bop up and resonate, lines dance on the page, metaphors grip the reader and one is taken on a voyage of discovery. That was my experience while reading Ogaga Ifowodo’s latest collection of poems, entitled A Good Mourning.

About the Author
Ogaga Ifowodo is a lawyer, poet, columnist and rights activist. He holds an MFA and a Ph.D from Cornell University. He taught writing at Texas State University till 2014. His other published books include Homeland and other Poems, Madiba, and The Oil Lamp.
Ogaga Ifowodo’s A Good Mourning was shortlisted for the the NLNG prize in 2017.
