A multiple award-winning journalist, author and technocrat, Anietie Usen is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Oxford Business School, Manchester Business School, Wisconsin Business School, Lagos Business School, Pennsylvania Business School (Wharton Aresty Institute of Executive Education), and the University of Calabar—a pioneer reporter at the phenomenal Newswatch Magazine, where he rose rapidly to become the General Editor. Anietie was also the Senior Political Analyst/Editorial Board Member of Thisday Newspaper as well as the Regional Editor In-charge of West Africa for the London-based Pan-African magazine, Africa Today. He was also the General Manager/CEO of Akwa Ibom Newspaper Corporation and founding Head of Corporate Communications as well as Director of Administration in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Governance Professionals Of Nigeria (FACGP), a Fellow of the Thompson Journalism Foundation, United Kingdom (FTJF), Member of the Nigerian Institute Of Public Relations (MNIPR), Member of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (MNGE), Member of the European Market Research Centre (MEMRC) and currently a Media and Management Consultant.
His two books, AUDACIOUS JOURNALISM and VILLAGE BOY, have received top-class reviews as a ‘book of inspiration’ from local and international organisations, including the UN SDG Book Club, which unveiled the book officially during the UNESCO World Book & Copyrights Day in 2021. VILLAGE BOY is also an approved textbook in three departments of the University Of Uyo. It has also been put on stage three times by the famous Theatre Arts department of the same University and the University has also conferred on Anietie the Author Creativity Award for the book.
